You may drive from Trondheim by using the main road E6, heading towards south.
You arrive the place called Støren, 51 km
from Trondheim. There you change to the main road 30, heading towards Røros.
You arrive the small place called Haltdalen, 55 km from Støren.
Driving 12 more km, you must turn right, following the sign to Hessdalen.
Total distance from Trondheim city to the road going to Hessdalen, is 118 km.
You must drive 4,5 more km, to attend north in Hessdalen, and
2 more km, to attend to Hessdalen AMS.

Driving from Oslo. Follow E6 out of Oslo, heading towards north.
Just before the city Hamar, turn right,
and follow the main road no. 3 towards Elverum. Just before Elverum turn left,
and follow the main road no.3 toward Tynset. 23 km after Alvdal, turn right,
heading towards Tynset. Just before attending Tynset, turn left, heading towards the town Røros.
Follow the main road no.30 toward Ålen.
The distance from Røros (railroad station), following the main road 30,
to the road that leads to Bjørgåsen mountain hotel, is 30,4 km.
The distance from that road to the public-home Kjempeplassen,
which is located in the centre of Ålen, is 2,7 km.
From Røros to the public-home Kjempeplassen in Ålen is 34,1 km.
The distance from Kjempeplassen to the road that leads to Hessdalen is 3,4 km.
From there, up to the Red Cross cottage, which is located where the road goes into
Hessdalen, is 4,5 km. If you drive further 1,9 km into Hessdalen, you will arrive close to
Hessdalen AMS.

Train.
If you travel to Hessdalen by train, you must use "Rørosbanen".
Nearest train station to Hessdalen is Ålen station, but you may also use Reitan station or Haltdalen station.
The timetable can be found at web-site NSB,
or by phone: 81500888. Not all trains stop at Ålen stastion,
but they stop at Reitan and Haltdalen stations. From these stations you may use a taxi to get to Hessdalen.
